Tips for avoiding reading glasses

How am I supposed to avoid using reading glasses at all times??

We are aware of the difficulty of doing this, but trust us – there’s a good reason.

Throughout the GlassesOff program, your brain will be learning to process small-scale visual information in a faster and more efficient manner.

By using reading or multifocal glasses that act as magnifying devices, you are preventing your brain from exercising these skills in daily life. Instead, we need our brain to get used to this new glasses-free condition.

If you have multifocal glasses or contacts, you might want to consider obtaining a separate pair of glasses for distance vision. This way you’ll be able to avoid using reading glasses for near vision.

So here are some tips on how to make this easier:

    1. Increase the font size on your mobile devices by going to:
On Android: Settings > Display or Display and Gestures > Font Size
On iOS: Settings > General > Accessibility > Large Text
    2. Increase the font size on your computer by following these instructions:

    3. Use strong lighting when reading a book, the newspaper, etc.

Some more important notes:

        * Once you begin using the application regularly, be sure to gradually decrease the font size on your computer and mobile devices. This will allow your brain to adapt to its new state.
        * Distance glasses or contacts can and should be kept on during all sessions.
